On Octobar 10th, in cooperation of Faculty of Applied Ecology “FUTURA”, Business Association of the Cement Industry of Serbia and the Network for Rural Development of Serbia, a round table “Green construction as a chance for decarbonization of the construction sector” was organized in Paracin.
Today, cement is produced in 159 countries with a total integrated capacity of 4.1 billion tonnes per year. As the third largest industrial energy consumer, this industry accounts for 7% of global CO2 emissions.
Despite the projected global increase in cement production of 12% -23% by 2050, it is expected that, by taking measures already established by the cement industry globally, the increase in direct emissions from the cement production process will be only 4%.
