The Fifth Balkan Standardization Conference

Fifth Balkan Standardization Conference, held on 14th and 15th June in Belgrade, gathered representatives of national standardization bodies from the Balkan region in order to exchange experiences and improve their work.

"The competitiveness of Serbian companies is closely linked to their ability to produce quality and safe products in accordance with the requirements of relevant technical regulations and standards. In this area Serbia made biggest progress in the region," said Jovan Petrovic, the Assistant Minister of Quality Infrastructure Quality.

As a precondition for such a production an efficient and internationally recognized quality infrastructure system is required, or network of institutions and organizations in the field of quality infrastructure, metrology, accreditation, conformity assessment and standardization.

Dejana Milinkovic, director of the Business Association of the Cement Industry of Serbia and President of the ISS Assembly, opened the round table entitled „Cooperation among national standards bodies (NSBs) and public authorities“.
